Naturalization Program
The Naturalization Program is designed to support Tulsa residents on their journey to becoming U.S. citizens. By providing guidance, financial assistance to cover the application fee, access to helpful resources, and assistance throughout the application process, the program helps participants overcome barriers and take meaningful steps toward achieving their American dream.
Process
How the Program Works
Meet with Program Coordinator to determine eligibility and review required documentation
Fill out N400 in coordination with Program Coordinator (may happen at initial meeting or follow-up meeting)
After review, you will submit and pay for your N400 form
Proof of payment will be sent to Program Coordinator and reimbursement will be processed in 3 weeks
Once reimbursement is processed, you will receive notification to pick up your check

Eligibility
There are several factors that determine eligibility for the Naturalization Program. However, if you meet the requirements, we are here to assist you with the application process and connect you to community resources, including access to citizenship classes.
To be eligible for funding through Eastside Rise’s naturalization program, you must be a resident of Tulsa and meet all government requirements to become a naturalized citizen (below).
To become a U.S. citizen through naturalization, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Be at least 18 years old at the time you file Form N-400, Application for U.S. Citizenship.
Be a permanent resident (have a Green Card) for at least 5 years (or 3 years if married to a U.S. citizen).
Demonstrate continuous residence in the United States for at least 5 years immediately before filing.
Show that you have been physically present in the U.S. for at least half of the 5 years.
Be able to read, write, and speak basic English and have knowledge of U.S. history and government.
Good moral character, you must be a person of good moral character during the five years (or three years if you are the spouse of a U.S. citizen) preceding your citizenship application.
If you are concerned about a criminal record potentially impacting your eligibility for U.S. citizenship, it's recommended to seek the advice of a licensed immigration attorney. A criminal record can have a significant effect on your ability to obtain citizenship, and an experienced immigration attorney can help you understand your options and the steps you can take to address any issues before applying.

How do I know if I am eligible to participate in the program?
To qualify for U.S. citizenship through naturalization, you must meet the following requirements:
You must reside in the city of Tulsa (requirement for funding through Eastside Rise only).
Be at least 18 years old at the time you file Form N-400, Application for Naturalization.

How much English do I need to know?
We’ll meet with you to complete a basic English assessment. If needed, we’ll connect you to free or low-cost resources like ESL classes to help you improve.
Do you provide the application fee or is it a reimbursement?
You pay the application fee upfront, and we will reimburse you once we receive proof of payment.
How long does the reimbursement take?
Reimbursement is processed within 2–3 weeks after we receive your application receipt.

Yes. After-hours assistance is available, just schedule your appointment at least one or two weeks in advance.
