Rental Assistance Program
About the Program
The East Tulsa Rental Assistance Program provides rental assistance for individuals in our target neighborhoods. Rental assistance can include rent, utilities, security deposits, application fees, or other costs necessary to help qualifying tenants remain housed. These funds cannot be used for fines, fees, or for costs of eviction, including attorney fees. Each household is eligible for a maximum of $3,000 or three months rent, whichever is lower.
This program is financed in whole or in part by funds from the City of Tulsa, Tulsa Authority for Economic Opportunity, and Affordable Housing Trust Fund.
Eligibility
Low/Moderate Income households (see chart for more information)
Live in one of the target neighborhoods (see map for more information)
Willing to commit to full participation in the program, including ongoing reporting and evaluation

Process
After submitting the initial application, staff will review to identify eligibility.
After preliminary approval, staff will contact applicant for any additional information needed.
Staff will refer applicant to Financial Empowerment Center for consultation.
Once documentation is reviewed and approved, staff will contact landlord to sign agreements.
Staff will pay landlord directly - applicant will not receive grant payment.
Once complete, staff will follow-up with applicant for evaluation and any final documentation.
Documentation Required
Written and signed lease
Documentation of household income
Copy of late notice (if applicable)
Ledger of monies owed (if applicable)
